Kerrville W. Lake Babb, 76, of Kerrville, passed from this life on Monday afternoon, June 2, 2008.Born in Duncan, SC, on March 30, 1932, he was the son of Grover Cleveland and Sally Vaughn Babb.Mr. Babb served in the US Airforce for 10 years after high school. Once honorably discharged, he went to work for Southern Pacific Railroad as a freight conductor for 38 years. He was a member of the UTU, the United Transportation Union. Mr. Babb was a Mason.He and his wife were members of the First Christian Church.A loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather and brother, he will be dearly missed.Family members include his wife of almost 35 years, Mary Lou Brown Babb of Kerrville his 4 children, Maris Lopez of San Angelo, TX, Sally Gutierrez of San Antonio, TX, Elizabeth Stavley of Del Rio, TX and Joe Angel Babb of Washington, DC 2 stepchildren, Jeff Wueste of Round Rock, TX and Kim Richards of Austin, TX 9 grandchildren 9 great grandchildren 2 brothers and sistersinlaw, Bis and Gerry Babb of Duncan, SC and Joe and Mickey Babb of Arden, NC a sister, Maudine Babb of Duncan, SC and many nieces, nephews and cousins.There is no visitation.A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 11:00 at the First Christian Church of Kerrville. The family asks that floral arrangements be omitted and monetary donations in his name be made to the Parkinsons Disease Foundation or to the First Christian Church.
