William Robert Vaden, 82, of Hunt, Texas entered into rest on November 30, 2006 at his residence.Mr. Vaden was born March 5, 1924 in Dallas, Texas to Finis and Rose Vaden. He served his country during World War II in the U. S. Army Air Corps. He married Gertrude Trudy Kollar Vaden on July 2, 1975 in Austin, Texas. He was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha social fraternity Alpha Chapter at the University of Virginia, and the Beta Mu Chapter at the University of Texas in Austin. He worked for the Curtin Scientific Company in Houston, Texas as Vice President and Controller for 26 years and was head of the St. Andrews Episcopal School in Austin, Texas for five years. He and his wife moved to the Hill Country in 1980 where he was a business manager for the Hill Country Youth Ranch in Ingram for sixteen years, and was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in Kerrville. He is preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Joseph Newton Wyatt.He is survived by his loving wife, Gertrude Trudy Vaden son, Robert M. Vaden and his wife Kathleen of Houston, Texas daughters, Linda C. VadenGoad and husband Robert of Danbury, CT and daughter, Nancy A. VadenKiernan and husband Michael of Austin grandchildren, Aaron VadenYoumans of New York, NY, Nancy VadenYoumans of New York, NY, Robert W. Vaden of Houston, TX, Trisha C. Vaden of Houston, TX, Austin R. VadenKiernan of Austin, TX, and David A. VadenKiernan of Austin, TX and cousins, Edna Ann Cunningham and husband Ben of Wichita Falls, and Marion Stewart and husband Mitchell of Dallas.Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 4, 2006 at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Kerrville with Rev. Stockton Williams and Rev. Milton E. McWilliams, Jr. officiating. Inurnment will be at St. Peters Episcopal Church Columbarium.Honorary Pallbearers will be L.M. Pete Arnold, Gordon V. Epstein, Herbert G. Farnsworth, Roderick J. Fraser, Merle Funk, Lyle Hamilton, Marvin Placke, Gary Priour, and M. Scott Stehling.The family would like to offer their appreciation to Vistacare Hospice, especially Kelly and Allie and Dr. Ralph Wells of San Antonio.Memorials may be made to the Hill Country Youth Ranch, St. Andrews Episcopal School in Austin, or El Paso High School.
