Kerrville Services for William A. Thomas, 87, of Kerrville, Texas, formerly of the Ada and Allen, OK. area will be at 10 AM, Monday, January 3, 2005 at the Oil Center Pentecostal Holiness Church, Ada, OK. with the Rev. Glen Eaves officiating. Interment will follow in Maxwell Cemetery.Mr. Thomas passed from this life on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at his residence in Kerrville. He was born December 23, 1917 at Ranger, TX. to Bryan and Drucilla Sutterfield Thomas. He graduated from Vanoss High School.He married Jewel Laverne Burk on March 29, 1935 in Ada, OK. Mr. Thomas was a pipeline welder for Sun Oil Company, retiring from Explorer Pipeline. He served in the Unites States Navy during World War II on an escort carrier, the USS Takanis Bay CVE89.Survivors include his wife, Jewel Laverne Thomas of Kerrville, TX two daughters, Judith Ann Vinson and husband Johnny of Kerrville, and Marlyn Miner of Beaverton, OR one son, Billy Lyn Thomas and wife Pamela of San Francisco, CA a daughterinlaw, Peggy Sue Thomas of Corpus Christie, TX 10 grandchildren, and a host of many loving friends and neighbors.He was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Ross Thomas in 1998 a grandson, Johnny Brian Thomas in 1996 and a soninlaw, Robert Miner in 2000.Palbearers will be grandsons and greatgrandsons.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home, Kerrville, TX.
