William Scott


William H. Bill Scott, 85, of Ingram, Texas passed from this life on March 6, 2014 at a local care facility. He was born December 14, 1928 in Wichita, Kansas to Homer and Mary Gardner Scott.

Bill served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 19501952 in Korea, participating in the Inchon Landing. He graduated from Tulsa University with a B.S. and M.S. in Petroleum Engineering, and spent his entire career working for Conoco in Oklahoma and Texas. Bill was an ordained deacon and Elder in The Presbyterian Church where he served on various committees, but most often in property matters. In Oklahoma and Texas he was a Scoutmaster, and in Kerrville he served with community blood drives, CAM, and Habitat for Humanity as treasurer. Bill was a committed and giving man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Rebecca Scott and older brother, Ted Scott.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his wife Nancy brother, Bob Scott and wife Nancy of Arkansas brotherinlaw, Rusty Mitchell and wife Kim of Dallas sisterinlaw, Mary Grizzard and husband Mike of Vermont sons, Mark Scott and wife Allelia of Hurst and Paul Scott and wife Jenny of Norway stepdaughters, Susan Harris and husband Scott of Katy and Patti Flowers and husband Jimmy of Katy grandsons, Paul Scott, Cameron Scott, Joel Scott, Ryan Harris, Austin Harris, Mitch Flowers, Matthew Flowers nieces and nephews along with a host of friends and church family.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church, 800 Jefferson St, Kerrville with Rev. Eric Rhoda officiating. Private inurnment will be at the First Presbyterian Church Columbarium.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care Bill received from Edgewater Care Center, Alamo Hospice, and Dr. Richard Johnson and his staff.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Mo Ranch or Habitat for Humanity in Kerr County.
