William Nelson

Kerrville William T. Bill Nelson, age 80, died Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at a local hospital. He was born November 7, 1922 in Lewiston, NY to Frank Nelson and Myrtle Young Nelson.Bill was employed in the oil industry for many years working as a drilling superintendent. His last employment was with Blue Goose and Mustang Drilling. He was in the US Army Air Corps serving in WWII with tours do duty in France and Germany. Bill was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Great Bend and was a long time resident of Great Bend, KS. Bill married Betty Banks who precedes him in death. He later married Wanda Harris Pence in Great Bend, KS on July 2, 1977 and they moved to Kerrville to retire in 2001.Bill is survived by his wife, Wanda of Kerrville mother Myrtle of Burt, NY 3 daughters, Barbara Nelson of Fruita, CO, Rebecca Heifner of Parma, MI, Janice Leverenz of Accident, MD 3 grandchildren, 1 greatgrandchild 3 stepchildren, Janet Phillips of Lawrence, KS, Steve Pence of Crested Butte, CO, Ellen Nixon of Basking Ridge, NJ 6 stepgrandchildren, 4 stepgreatgrandchildren brother, Frank Nelson, Jr. of Gasport, NY, sister Margaret Schmitt of Lockport, NY.The family has asked that donations be made to Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital Foundation or the charity of ones choice.
