William Kilian

KERRVILLE - William Cameron Kilian, 79, of Kerrville, TX passed from this life on January 2, 2015 at a local hospital in Kerrville, TX. William was born June 2, 1935 in Cincinnati, OH to Fredrick and Beatrice Kilian.

When William was six years old his family moved from Cincinnati, OH to Washington D.C. where his father was a Civil Engineer. While living in Washington D.C., William's mother would drive him to St. Teresa's Catholic Church to serve weekday masses in grade school. Prior to high school, William's family moved to Florida where he attended St. Paul's Catholic High School in St. Petersburg. During high school he was active in swimming and water sports as well as playing on the high school football team. After high school graduation, William attended Florida State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in business.William continued his studies working toward a master's degree at the University of Houston. Shortly after college, William joined the United States Navy where he served three years as an active duty gunnery officer. During his time in the Navy, his ship went the South Pole and New Zealand, where he also conducted Catholic services while at sea. After finishing up his tour of duty, William traveled extensively throughout Central and South America, as well as Mexico. William worked for NASA for two years during the first flights to the moon and then spent the majority of his life working as an insurance adjuster for many major insurance companies.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Beatrice Kilian.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his wife, Judith Ann; sons, Joseph and Randall; daughter, Kathleen; and five grandchildren along with a host of many loving friends and neighbors.

A recitation of the Holy Rosary was held on Sunday, January 4, 2014. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 P.M., January 5, 2015 at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville, Texas. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Kerrville, Texas. Following interment a reception will be held at the Social Center in Notre Dame Catholic Church.
