William Milton Bill Condra, age 75, of Kerrville, Texas, and formerly of Austin, TX, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2006 following a two year battle with lung cancer. Bill was born October 3, 1930, in San Antonio, Texas, to Leonard W. and Willie Mai Rucker Condra. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Lillian Tamsitt Condra his sisters Mattie Lynn Clark of Houston, TX and Irene Bouchard of Austin, TX his son and daughterinlaw, Guy and Lisa Condra of Boerne, TX, their children, Christi Condra of Atlanta, GA, Marsha Pendleton and her husband Nat, their son Keith and their daughter Addison of Boerne, TX, Shelly Condra and her daughter Marisa of San Antonio, TX, Kimberly Condra of Austin, TX and Katelyn Condra of Boerne, TX his son and daughterinlaw, Phil and Sally Condra and their children, Philip, Mary Kate and Patrick of Austin, TX. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Harold Condra, and his oldest sister, Mildred Anderson.Bill attended grade schools in Austin and later graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1948, where he participated on the varsity basketball team. Following graduation, he joined Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. and worked briefly before enlisting in the U. S. Air Force. He served four years in Korea and was honorably discharged in 1952. He had returned to Southwestern Bell as a lineman when, in 1953, he married the former Lillian Tamsitt of Big Spring, TX. After eighteen years, and several relocations around West Texas, Bill ended his tenure with SW Bell in 1969 in Big Spring. Upon the familys return to Austin that year, he became a real estate broker and an insurance agent until retirement in 1992. Shortly thereafter, his love of golf, which he played for most of his life, led him to open a golf club repair shop. He and Lillian then moved to Kerrville in 2001.Bill was also a Freemason and member of a Masonic Lodge in Austin. He was an outgoing man, capable of befriending anyone with his warm personality and nonstop sense of humor. He was very proud of his family and their successes. He loved visiting with lifelong friends and was pleased to call Austin home. Bill spent the last two years under the care and attention of many wonderful medical professionals who ly became friends. We wish to thank Dr. Rebecca Barrington for her professional care and her comforting demeanor along with her caring and dedicated staff. We also wish to thank Dr. John Barnett and his staff for their care and expertise, the many doctors and nurses at Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital, the Hospice caregivers of Peterson Hospice and the caregivers of Caring Senior Service whose compassion and personable attention are unequaled. are cordially invited to Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, TX 78745 for a memorial service on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 beginning at 10:30 a.m. followed by a reception with the family.
