Wilbur "Bill" King, age 95 of Kerrville, TX passed away Friday, January 08, 2016 at a local nursing home.

Mr. King was born May 17, 1920 in Dewey, OK the son of William and Maude King. After graduating from Dewey High School in 1940, he enlisted in the Army Air Corp spending the next 27 years in the service of his country. He met the love of his life, Gladys Ellen Swanberg, while stationed in Harlingen, TX and they were married on December 20, 1942.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the main chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home. Celebration of life services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kerrville. The interment will be held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2016 with full military honors.

Mr. King was preceded in death by a son, Captain Ronald King, his parents, a brother, Staff Sergeant Anderson "Mac" King and three sisters.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife, Gladys, daughter, Judith Anderson and her husband, Andy of Franklin, Tennessee, their children, Kevin, Kjersten and Trisha, Captain King's daughter, Tracy, her son Mike and his daughter, Michelle, and her son, Keith and his wife, Marcy.
