Wesley G. Platts, 71, of Kerrville, Texas, passed from this life on Friday, March 11, 2016 at a local hospital. He was born on May 3, 1944 to William R. and Viola Markle Platts in Detroit, Michigan.
Growing up in Lexington, Michigan, he eventually married the love of his life, Janyth J. Platts in 1982, uniting in Biloxi, Mississippi. After serving his community with honor, Wesley retired at the rank of Captain from the Biloxi Fire Department. After retirement, he and Janyth moved to Kerrville to enjoy the Texas Hill Country and relax from the daily grind of public safety.
Wesley was an avid fisherman, a devoted gardener who shared home grown vegetables with many of his friends, and a classic car enthusiast. Hi final car project was a 1932 Ford Coupe. Wesley was also a very active Mason, having served in many capacities and as a Past Master of the Kerrville Masonic Lodge #697, A.F. & A.M.
Preceding him in death were his parents, William R. and Viola Platts.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Janyth J. Platts of Kerrville, TX; stepson, David D. Herron of San Francisco, CA; a host of many loving friends, neighbors, and Masonic brothers who will miss his jovial personality.
Per Wesley's wishes, there will be no formal services held.
In lieu of floral tributes, the family has expressed a desire that memorial donations be made to the Kerrville Masonic Lodge # 697, A.F. & A. M., Kerrville, Texas or to the charity of one's choice.
