San Antonio Wayne Allen Groll, our son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away in San Antonio, May 1, 2004 at the age of 54.Mr. Groll was born January 20, 1950 in Kerrville to Louis O. and Charlotte N. Groll. He attended school in Hunt, Ingram, and graduated from Tivy High School in 1968. He furthered his education at Texas AM University, College Station, where he earned his B.S. in animal science in 1972. After college he worked for L.D. Brinkman Corp. as a master showman for the commercial cattle industry. He worked for the First National Bank as a loan officer. He then worked at the local Federal Land Bank and was instrumental in the opening of several other branches in central Texas. He went to work for the San Antonio Land Development Company as an appraiser consultant. He later became an appraiser with the Scott Binford Assoc. and became partner in the firm. This later became Eckmann Groll Assoc.He was an active member and participant in the Kerr County FFA, and Junior Livestock Assoc. in high school. He went on to become the or of the Junior Livestock Assoc. of the county and district cattle show. He was involved with the Kerr Co. Livestock Show for over 48 years and was honored for his volunteer work in 1997.He was preceded in death by his father, Louis O. Groll.He is survived by his mother, Charlotte N. Groll of Kerrville sister, Robbie Johnson and husband Gerald of San Antonio 2 brothers, Dennis E. Groll and wife Judy of W. Monroe, LA, Dale A. Groll and wife Janie of Kerrville nieces and nephews, Teri Flores and husband Sparky along with great niece Aston, Lori Durham and husband Jimmy, Lindsey and Matthew Groll, Megan and Hayley Groll, Peter Luff and Patrick Luff.Honorary Pallbearers will be Matthew Groll, Donny Evans, Bob Reeves, Bill Cowden, Jimmy Locke, Lamar Jenschke, Ralph Langley, Tommy Priour, and J.C. Mattox.
