Kerrville Wanda N. Scheirton of Kerrville, Texas passed away peacefully on January 20, 2004 at Hilltop Village in Kerrville, Texas. Born Wanda Brown, May 7, 1910, in Richland Springs, Texas, she was the youngest of nine children and very proud of her familys Texas pioneer heritage. She graduated from Richland Hills High School, and then attended Daniel Baker College in Brownwood, Texas. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of fiftyone years, George W. Scheirton, Sr., on October 28, 1987. Mrs. Scheirton became a resident of Kerrville in 1950. Although her residence here was interrupted by times spent in Abilene, Texas, Houston, Texas, and Hernando, Florida, she loved the Hill Country and always considered it and Texas her home. She was a resident of Hilltop Village since April of 2001.Survivors include a son, George Scheirton, Jr., and wife Patricia R. Scheirton of Fredericksburg, Texas daughters, Charlotte Raifaisen, and husband Sidney Raifaisen of Sacramento, California and Dr. Linda S. Scheirton and husband, Dr. Jozef. V.M. Welie of Omaha, Nebraska three grandchildren, Greg Sorrell, Terri Goehring and Tristan A.G.C. Welie a greatgranddaughter, Abigail Goehring. Wanda is also survived by a brother, Newton Carlton Buster Brown, age ninetynine, of Richland Springs, Texas.Graveside services will be conducted at Garden of Memories Cemetery on Friday, January 23, 2004 at 12 noon with the Rev. Arlie Lammers officiating. ation will be held Thursday, January 22, 2004 from 7 8 PM at Kerrville Funeral Home. A luncheon gathering of family and friends will be held immediately following the service at the YO Ranch Resort Hotel Restaurant in Kerrville, Texas.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
