Walton Daniel Jr.

Kerrville Walton S Daniel Jr., 82, of Kerrville, TX who passed from this life on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at a local hospital was born September 2, 1925 in Kerrville to Walton S. Daniel Sr. and Beatrice Doughty. He served in Germany during WWII as a staff sergeant. After the war he attended Texas AM University, earning a Bachelors of Science degree. Walt worked for the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife as a game Biologist, living in Fairfield, TX working in several East and Central TX counties from 1954 until his retirement in 1982. In 1995 he and his wife returned to live in Kerrville and the Texas Hill Country, where he enjoyed retirement to the fullest. He was a life long member of The First United Methodist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents a daughter, Leigh Blevins and a granddaughter, Michelle Daniel. Surviving him are his loving wife of 60 yrs, Betty Hunt Daniel of Kerrville, TX son, Mike Daniel wife Sheryl a daughter, Jill Ratliff grandchildren, Nathan Daniel, Sam Baskin, Quinten Daniel, Brad Blevins wife Megan, Daniel Blevins wife Jennifer, Josh Ratliff fianc Amanda Taylor, Matt Ratliff and Rod Ratliff, father of Josh and Matt great grandchildren, Aubrey Blevins and Emily Blevins a brother, Tom Daniel wife Jeanne of Wimberley, TX along with a host of many loving Aunts, Nieces, Nephews and neighbors.Family visitation is scheduled from 4 6 PM, Sunday, November 11, 2007 at Kerrville Funeral Home. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 AM, Monday, November 12, 2007 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Warren Hornung and Dr. Mel Hardin officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at 1 PM in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Kerrville, TX.In lieu of floral arrangements, the family suggests memorials be made to First United Methodist Church, American Lung Assoc., American Heart Assoc., or to Peterson Hospice.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
