Virginia Rhodes

Virginia Frances (Smirl) Rhodes, 85, of Kerrville, TX passed from this life on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at a local care center. Virginia was born to Arthur Nealy and Willie Frances (Passon) Smirl on April 6, 1929 in Carrollton, TX.

Virginia received her education in Borger, TX. She married the love of her life, A.T. Rhodes in Borger on April 28, 1951. His career with Phillips Petroleum led them to settle in Rankin, TX where she resided until July of 2014, moving to Kerrville, TX. A.T. passed from this life in 1987. She was a home maker, who truly enjoyed her children and grandchildren, and also loved the country life, living on the land that she and her husband had worked so hard for.

Those who passed before her were her husband, A.T. Rhodes; sister, Lucille Cook; brother, Eugene Smirl; step-sons, Richard Ronnie Rhodes and Bobby Zane Rhodes; grandson, Joseph Wayne Harris; great granddaughter, Charise Millard Harris; great-grandson, James Austin Harris.

Left to honor and cherish her memory are her son, Asa Wayne Rhodes and wife Monica of Rankin, TX; daughter, Gaye Lynn Adams and husband Dave of Falling Waters, WV; several grandsons and granddaughters; sister, Hazel Snyder and husband Joe of Granbury, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and sisters-in-law.

Graveside Services will be held at 1 PM, Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Fulton Cemetery, Walnut Springs, TX.
