Kerrville Virginia C. Mann, 83, passed from this life on Friday, July 22, 2005 at a local care center. Mrs. Mann was born on July 10, 1922 in Irving, Texas to the late Robert and Edith Camp.Mrs. Mann came from a family of much history. Her mother grew up and was a part of the Oklahoma Land Rush. Her father was a dairyman, which led to the fact that Mrs. Mann was born on the OConner Dairy Farm in Irving, which is now very close to where the Dallas Cowboys call their home, the Texas Stadium. She attended Arlington High School, and ultimately graduated from Grapevine High School. Mrs. Mann then attended North Texas Agricultural College, now known as UT Arlington.She married 2nd Lt. Linn E. Mann on June 2, 1942 in Arlington, Texas after which she followed him around the world for 42 years. Upon retirement, Mrs. Virginia Mann and the love of her life, Lt. Col. USAF Ret. Linn E. Mann made their home in Kerrville, Texas. She had been an active member of the Ingram Garden Club.Mrs. Mann was preceded in death by her parents.Survivors include her husband and nephew, Rev. David Mann of Phoenix, AZ, along with a host of many loving friends and neighbors.Services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at the Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel, 1221 Junction Highway, Kerrville, Texas 78028 with Rev. David Mann officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.In lieu of floral tributes, the family suggests memorials in the name of Mrs. Virginia Mann be made to the Hunt Ingram Lions Club.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
