Virginia M. Hansen, 85, of Kerrville, Texas passed from this life on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at a local hospital.
Virginia was born March 2, 1927 in Janesville, Wisconsin to parents, John Ivan and Carrie Belle McLaughlin. She was baptized at the Christian Missionary Alliance also in Janesville. She married Carl Reuben Hansen in December of 1948 in Stillwater, Minnesota. She was a music therapist at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Clair, Wisconsin and a member of the Eau Clair VFW Post 305 Auxiliary before moving to Kerrville. In Kerrville, Virginia worked at the Inn of the Hills for 12 years and the Flying L Guest Ranch for 6 years. She was very creative and used her talent for making arts and crafts and she loved music. Virginia was also athletic and enjoyed golf and bowling. Virginia had a great love for her family and most of all enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters, and a son, Bill Hansen.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband of 64 years, Carl R. Hansen of Kerrville children, Sandra Mercer of Sun City West, Arizona, Karen Jackson of Boerne, and Tim Hansen of Kerrville fourteen grandchildren twentytwo greatgrandchildren and three greatgreatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services and interment will be at a later date in Wisconsin.
