Virginia Lollar Erlund was born December 24, 1925 in Houston, Texas to Julia May Frost and Luther Penn Lollar. She passed from this life on October 22, 2006 at the age of 80 years in Kerrville, Texas. She was a member of the Junction Highway Church of Christ.Virginia was gifted in art and was accomplished on the piano, mandolin, accordion, and violin. By age thirteen she was playing guitar and singing on the radio, and later participated in the Comfort Little Theater. As a supervisor with a high security clearance, she used her graphic arts skills in mapping Russia during the Cold War years. She designed the Centennial Plate for Comfort in 1954 and the cover of the historical book 100 Years of Comfort in Texas. Throughout her life, she painted landscapes and had a keen sense of design and color. Her children and grandchildren became her main focus always remembering birthdays and special events. We will always remember her sharp wit and her Basin Street Blues.She is survived by her four children, Otheil J. O.J. Erlund and wife Rachel of Comfort, Texas, Beth Erlund and husband Dennis Johnson of Evergreen, Colorado, Luther P. Erlund and wife Sharon of West Dundee, Illinois, and Ellen Lucas and husband Ben of Kerrville, Texas. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Michael Erlund and wife Melissa, Jess Erlund and wife Misty, Deb Hooker, Cade Hooker, Kathy Tonner and husband Ed, Larissa Hale and husband Kevin, April Lucas and husband Ky Chain, Charlotte Lucas, and Matthew Erlund, and eight greatgrandchildren, Natalie, Chance, China, Chandlin, Fabian, Eric, Elizabeth, and Hailey.Virginias life will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at the Kerrville Funeral Home. ation will be held 57:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at Kerrville Funeral Home.The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of Edgewater Care Center and Vistacare Hospice.Memorials may be made to the Susan B. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation or National Parkinson Foundation.
