Kerrville Virgie May Bunkelman Demske, 86, of Kerrville, passed from this life at her home on Monday, April 18, 2011.
Born in Seymour, WI on August 11, 1924, she was the daughter of John and Eleanor Jenkins Bunkelman. She had been a resident of Kerrville 22 years.
Virgie was always very active. She enjoyed swimming, hiking, traveling, bicycling, camping, fishing and anything outdoors. She loved spending time with her family and friends. True to her roots, Virgie cherished annual trips to her home state of Wisconsin.
Virgie was very active in her Rio Robles community here in Kerrville, always helping a neighbor, or taking part in the many activities held at the community center. She was also a very active member of her church, Zion Lutheran, in Kerrville.
She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, Sheldon Demske, and her sister, Betty Thiel, her son, Jim Demske.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her children, Kenneth Sasman Jean of Sheboygan, WI, Cheryl SasmanPerry Mark Rybicki of Green Bay, WI, Thomas J. Sasman Vickey of Maple Grove, Minnesota, Julie Dixon John of Marshall, VA, Tami M. Ellis of Helena, MT, Timothy M. Sasman of Kerrville, TX, Michael Demske of Manitowoc, WI and Kenneth Demske Merry Kris of Milwaukee, WI 14 grandchildren 6 great grandchildren and a brotherinlaw, Art Thiel of NC.
There will be no visitation.
A celebration of her life will be held at Zion Lutheran Church of Kerrville on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. A reception will follow at 12:00 noon at the Community Center of Rio Robles Park.
The family suggests that donations in her name be made to Peterson Hospice or to the Zion Lutheran Church Media Ministries.
