Victoria Myers Tyburski, 77 years old of Mountain Home, was called home to the Lord on December 28th 2015, ending her courageous 3-year battle with cancer.
Her life was one of service and thoughtfulness to her country, her family, and her many dear friends. Victoria was born in Merced Falls, California. A devoted public servant, she worked for the Social Security Administration for 21 years until retirement. She also volunteered as a translator at local Kerrville elections, assisting citizens to exercise their right to vote.
Victoria was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and dear friend to many. She could always be counted on for her thoughtful kindness and eagerness to lend a helping hand to those in need. Never one to pass up a good deal, Victoria's shopping prowess was legendary and she was known by many as one of the best bargain-hunters in town, particularly at Belk's, her favorite store. She passed down her shopping strategies and tips to her grateful granddaughters, who hope to carry on Victoria's shopping and fashion legacy. Yet, even when enjoying the thrill of the shopping-hunt, Victoria's constant thoughtfulness and consideration of others remained paramount. The spoils of Victoria's successful bargain hunting were carefully selected for and shared with family, friends, and those in need. An ardent supporter of women's organizations, Victoria regularly donated clothes and supplies to women's shelters and organizations that help support young mothers.
She is preceded in death by her son, Marlin Jr., grandson, Todd Harrington, parents, Cleofas and Clemente Saucedo, brothers, Cruz, Alex, Jesse, and Nick Saucedo, and husband Stephen Tyburski.
She is survived by her beloved companion, Victor, daughter, Linda and six grandchildren, Sean, Whitney, Chase, Paige, Chad and Ruth, and her sisters, Esther, Helen, Mary, and Connie.
In lieu of flowers or a funeral service, Victoria requested all to donate to her dearest charity foundation, St. Jude's Children's Hospital. She will be laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
Victoria's passing will leave a void in all our lives, but her example of loving thoughtfulness and service to others will live on in the many lives she touched.
Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of the professionals at Kerrville Funeral Home.
