Verna Lee Holt, 75, of Kerrville, Texas passed away peacefully on February 9, 2007 at a local care facility.Mrs. Holt was born May 23, 1931 in Loyal Valley, Texas to Robert Lee and Ida Smith Owen. She had been a resident of Kerrville for over thirty years where she remained active in the community as she was able. She was a member of Calvary Temple Church and loved music. She was a member of the family Sports Center where she enjoyed her favorite hobby, swimming and exercise. She loved to eat out at restaurants, and even received a commemorative plate from Cracker Barrel for being such a frequent diner. She enjoyed gardening and raising birds, and was a volunteer at the Kerrville State Hospital for five years. She was a very special lady with a kind and energetic spirit she will be missed by the community, her friends, and family.She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Thomas Ray Holt.She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Crawford and husband Mark of Medina three sons, Larry Ford of Kerrville, John Ford and wife Robin of Baltimore, Maryland, and Curtis Holt of Kerrville grandchildren, Lee Holt and Melissa Holt, Edie Jones and fianc Shannon Newell, Tracy Hamilton and husband Jeff, Austin Jones and wife Tiffany, and Michael Jones great grandchildren and numerous other relatives.Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 12, 2007 at the Garden of Memories Cemetery.Memorials may be made to the Kerrville State Hospital Volunteer Program.
