Vera McKee

Bowie Vera Gane McKee, 99, of Bowie, TX and formerly of Levelland, TX entered into rest peacefully Thursday, March 18, 2004 at a Bowie care center. She was born in Washita County, Oklahoma to Charly and Lidia Ann Helvey Allison on November 28, 1904. Mrs. McKee married the late Phillip McKee in Henerrita, TX on June 20, 1924, after which they lived in Anton, TX, and then later resided in Levelland, TX for many years. In 1996, she moved to Bowie, TX to be closer to one of her daughters. She was a Restaurant operator, housewife, and a member of the Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Phillip McKee, and a daughter, Catherine Haddox.She is survived by her four daughters, Mary Fagan, Myrtle Lee Bosher, and Marie Riddle, all of Levelland, TX, and Pauline Jackson of Bowie, TX her four sons, Phillip McKee of Omaha, TX, W.C. McKee of Sundown, TX, Ben McKee of Splendora, TX, and Elmer McKee of Everman, TX many grandchildren and greatgrandchildren along with a host of loving friends and neighbors.Graveside services will be held at 10AM, Monday, March 22, 2004 at the City of Levelland Cemetery, Levelland, TX with Bro. Glenn Reece, Pastor of Fairview Baptist Church, officiating.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
