Van Crowe

Hunt Van Richard Crowe, 92, of Hunt, Texas passed from this life on December 8, 2002 at a local hospital. Mr. Crowe was born in Rocky Ford, Colorado to Harry Zenas and Stella Van Scoy Crowe on September 20, 1910. He moved with his family to Brownsville in 1912, where he lived most of his life. He engaged in farming, raising cattle, owned and operated three restaurants in Port Isabel and a Christian Book Store.Mr. Crowe moved to the Texas Hill Country in the 1980s, where he was a caretaker of a ranch near Hunt, Texas for six years retiring to Hunt, Texas in 1985. He was an active member of the Hunt Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Palmer Crowe four sons, Keith and wife Jan of Corpus Christie, Donald and wife Sande of Houston, Douglas and wife Judy of Katy, and Charles of Hunt nine grandchildren fifteen greatgrandchildren and a host of many loving friends, neighbors and fellow Christians.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Mr. Crowe to the Charity of your choice.Services will be held at 2:00 PM at the Hunt Baptist Church, Monday, December 9, 2002. ation was held at Kerrville Funeral Home, Sunday, December 8, 2002 from 1:00 6:00 PM. Interment will follow at Japonica Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Pierce, Pastor of Hunt Baptist Church, officiating.Arrangements are under the direction of Kerrville Funeral Home.
