Tom Morgan King

Tom Morgan King, 87, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2023 in Kerrville, Texas. He was born on January 1, 1936 in Wichita, Kansas to Orville Clyde and Margaret McMillan King. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture where he was a proud member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.  He went on to serve in the United States Navy as an Air Intelligence Officer, work for the DuPont Corporation, and owned his own business. Later in life he used his knowledge in architecture to design, build, live-in, and sell multiple homes.  His passions included cars, traveling with his wife Virginia, who passed away in October 2007, and his family.

Tom is survived by his children - Tom King Jr (Tampa, FL), Kenneth King (Pleasanton, CA), and Karin Buchanan (Kerrville, TX) as well as 5 grandchildren Karli Buchanan (25), Dylan King (22), Cadie Buchanan (22), Riley King (20), and Bo Buchanan (20), whom he loved dearly.  Per his request, the family will hold a private remembrance and celebration of life in Kauai, HI. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Wounded Warrior Veteran’s Group.  Special thanks to Dr. Young’s Peterson Hospice Group – Debbie and Cassie -- and to all staff at River Point Assisted Living Facility in Kerrville for the special care provided.
