Thomas App

KERRVILLE Thomas S. App passed away peacefully on April 23, 2013 after a yearlong battle with brain cancer in Kerrville, Texas, where he lived with his wife Sherry Williams and their two schnauzers, Rocky and Romeo.

Tom was born on January 5, 1943 in Sacramento, CA and grew up in Akron, OH. He attended Creighton University in Omaha, after which he entered into a long and dedicated career in the insurance business in Cincinnati, Denver, and Kerrville. Tom and Sherry left Denver together in 2003, chasing milder climates and a slower pace of life in Kerrville, where Tom enjoyed getting to know the folks at the grocery store and the golf course.

Tom leaves behind his wife Sherry Williams of Kerrville, TX mother Joan App of Akron, OH son Michael App, daughterinlaw Becky App and grandsons Graham and Jay of Omaha, NE daughter Courtney App of Lakewood, CO daughter Kelley App of Ventura, CA son Christopher App of Seattle, WA brother Timothy App and sisterinlaw Theresa Bedoya of Baltimore, MD sister Christine Smerick and brotherinlaw Joseph Smerick of Akron, OH and aunt Louise Traczyk of Big Spring, TX.

A Memorial Service will be held in June in Kerrville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Thomas App Memorial Fund at Security State Bank, 1130 Junction Highway, Kerrville, TX 78208.
