Terry Lawrence Admire

Terry Lawrence Admire, 72, a devoted husband, father, nurse, and friend, of McAllen, Texas passed from this life on March 31, 2025 at the Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Terry was born May 19, 1952 in Emporia, Kansas to Coral Willard and Junadah Kathleen (Sawyer) Admire.

Terry grew up first in San Antonio, then Kerrville, and later joined the US Navy as a reservist. He met and married Gay Rhonda Admire and they had three sons. He worked as a police officer and paramedic while attending nursing school. Terry finally became a nurse, like his father, and he worked caring for others until his passing. December 2, 2000, he married a fellow nurse, Paula Renee Kilgore-Admire and on August 31, 2003 was blessed with a daughter.

Terry found his greatest joys in the quiet of the woods, the thrill of the hunt, and the warmth of his family. He had a deep respect for God’s creation, whether in nature or in the people he cared for. As a nurse, he touched countless lives with his compassion and dedication, finding great purpose in helping others. Whether he was tending to a patient, waiting patiently in the stillness of the morning for a deer, or gathered around the table with family, he lived a life full of purpose, kindness, and love. His legacy of faith, service, and the great outdoors will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Terry is preceded in death by his wife, Gay Rhonda Admire; father, Coral Willard Admire; wife, Paula Kilgore-Admire and brother, Carl Admire.

Those left to honor his memory include his mother, Junadah Admire; siblings, Annetta, Rosetta, Cathy, Merle, and Mark; children, Lewis (Nora) Admire, Christopher (Christina) Admire, Travis (Rhianne) Admire and Cora Gay Admire; grandchildren, Taylor, Kaylee, Madison, Lexie, Lucy, Rhonda, and Vincent.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Kerrville Funeral Home with Rev. Frankie Enloe officiating; interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9:30 AM prior to services.
