Susie Gallagher

Kerrville Susie Gallagher, 73, of Kerrville, Texas, formerly of Niles and Buchanan, Michigan, went from her home to be with the Lord on March 4, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Susie was born on December 26, 1938 in Buchanan, Michigan, to Robert and Christina Rauch Lace. After graduating from Niles High School in 1957, she and her husband owned Gallaghers Carpet in Niles and retired to Kerrville in 1998. Susie was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Kerrville and the Hill Country Youth Ranch Auxiliary. She loved to entertain and be with her friends. Susie had an extremely generous heart, a wonderful smile and could never say quotnoquot to anyone. She also loved to go thrifting and work in her yard.

On November 15, 1976, Susie married Dan Gallagher in California and he survives along with a brother, Robert Donna Lace of Buchanan, MI two sisters, Robyn Don Laughhunn of Flower Mound, TX and Candace Charles Erber of Freemont, MI nieces, Sarah, April, and Katy, numerous stepnieces and nephews, and a host of many loving friends and neighbors.

Preceding her in death were her father and stepmother, Robert and Helen Lace mother, Chris Dillavou and her stepfather, Don Dillavou.

Memorial Services will follow cremation, celebrating Susies life, and will be held at First United Methodist Church, 321 Thompson Drive, Kerrville, Texas 78028 on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 10 AM with the Rev. Bob Allen officiating. Interment will be held at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Kerrville at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Odyssey Hospice, 1001 Water Street, Ste B100, Kerrville, TX 78028, First United Methodist Church, 321 Thompson Drive, Kerrville, TX 78028, or to the Hill Country Youth Ranch, Main Street, Ingram, TX 78025.
