Kerrville ndashShirley Ann Small, 74, of Kerrville, passed from this life on Wednesday morning, March 4, 2009 at a local hospital.nbspBorn in La Crosse, WI on August 14, 1934, she was the daughter of John and Elaine Shubert Gautsch.nbspMrs. Small had a great love of children, and with that love, founded Share A Bear program, that started giving stuffed teddy bears to children in distress or a troubling situation.nbsp This program was taken over by the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post of Kerrville and the Order of The Cooties.nbsp It now provides police, fire departments and many other organizations with stuffed animals to comfort these children.nbsp She also volunteered at the VA Hospital in Kerrville.nbspThose left to honor and cherish her memory are her husband, William M. Small of Kerrville the children, Barbara and Joseph Ryan of Rochester, MN, Lorraine and Daniel Beck of Rochester, MN, Zachary and Diane Klaus of Rochester, MN, Sarah and Robert Ulrich of Denver, CO, Sabrina Duffy and her former husband, Grant, of Waseca, MN, William and Rita Small of Tucson, AZ, Jeff and Rhonda Small of Colorado Springs, CO and James and Mary Lou Small of Sandy, UT 20 grandchildren 3 great grandchildren a sister, Mary Ellen and Robert Hampton of La Crosse, WI and many nieces and nephews.nbspThere will be no visitation.nbspA celebration of her life will be held at Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Highway, on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 1:00PM.nbsp Inurnment will take place at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery.nbspIn lieu of floral arrangements, the family asks that monetary donations be made to the Share A Bear Program, co Kerrville VFW Post, Ladies Auxiliary, Kerrville, TX.nbsp nbspnbsp
