Shirley McCubbin

KERRVILLE - Shirley Diane (Allen) McCubbin, 58, of Hunt, TX passed from this life on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at a local hospital in Kerrville, TX. One of twelve children, she was born on June 22, 1957 in Slaton, Texas at Mercy Hospital to loving parents, Will Francis and Ollie Mae (Perry) Allen.

Shirley grew up and attended public schools in Post, TX, attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX, and graduated with a BS degree in Business Administration from Bethany Nazarene College in Oklahoma City, OK.

She worked in offices in Oklahoma City, OK, Dallas, TX, and Seguin, TX as a Computer Support Analyst. Shirley moved to Hunt, TX. and finally joined the team at Hill Country Telephone Coop, Ingram, TX., where she enjoyed her responsibilities in the billing department. She often remarked how much she enjoyed working with so many cooperative loving people in the HCTC family. Shirley truly looked forward to each working day and all the friendships she had formed with her fellow employees.

Preceding her in death are her parents; brothers, Will Allen, Jr., Earl Allen, and Charles Allen; and her sister, Alice Earnestine Allen.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her husband, Dr. Curtis McCubbin of Hunt, TX; brothers, Elvin Allen, and Melvin Allen, both of Snyder, TX; sisters, Norma Lee Gray of Walnut Bend, TX, Mary Francis Tivis of Lubbock, TX, Ina Faye Carroll of Brownfield, TX, Wilma Nell Yarbro of Post, TX, and Beverly June Warshaw of Slaton, TX; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of loving friends and neighbors who will miss her dearly.

A time of reflection and visitation will be held from 6 - 8 PM, Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Highway, Kerrville, TX 78028. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, September 10, 2015 in the Main Chapel of the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 1 PM at Mission Cemetery, San Antonio, TX with the Rev. Thomas Jeffers officiating.
