Shirley Ann Ogden Huigens, 82, of Kerrville, TX passed from this life on April 29, 2014 at a hospital in San Antonio, TX. Shirley was born August 7, 1931 in Henning, MN to Emery Julius and Esther Louise Johnson Ogden.

She married the love of her life, Joseph Anthony Joe Huigens on September 7, 1950 in Rushville, NE. She worked as a bookkeeper for local businesses in Rushville and Rapid City, SD. In Rapid City, Shirley was a member of the Altar Guild at Emanuel Episcopal Church. After retirement, she and Joe moved to Kerrville where they attended St. Peters Episcopal Church. Her activities in Kerrville included walking with the Kerrville Trailblazers and attending multiple American Volkssport Association AVA conventions. She completed a sanctioned AVA walk in all the lower 48 states. She was an avid traveler. Her hobbies included knitting, reading and word puzzles.

She is preceded in death by her husband her parents sister Ardis Ogden and brother William Bill Ogden.

Those left to honor and cherish her memory include three sons, Kevin Huigens and wife Anne Marie Crowe of Berwyn, IL, Kyron Huigens and wife Shelly Wierman of CrotonOnHudson, NY, and Ross Huigens of Kerrville nine grandchildren, Emily and husband Ian, Andrew, Brooke, Derek, Austen, Jessica, Audrey, Olivia, Paul and wife Karen four greatgrandchildren, Natalie, Charlie, Isabella, and Max her brother Donald Ogden and sisters Roselyn Miller, Margie Irwin, Carol Lewis and Kay Gregg many nieces and nephews, along with a host of friends and other relatives.

A Eucharistic Celebration will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, May 5, 2014 at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Kerrville with Rev. Stockton Williams and Rev. Tom Murray officiating.
