Shirley Dreiss

Shirley Jean Dreiss, 90, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Trinity Mission Nursing and Rehab Center in Comfort, TX. She was born in Edinburg, TX to Harry V.B. and Asenath (Dobson) Pray on May 4, 1928 and grew up in the Tulsa, OK area.

Attending school in Edinburg, she graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, OK. She moved to Kerrville, TX with the family for father's health concerns. She married John Moureau Dreiss in Kerrville, TX on November 29, 1946. Shirley enjoyed traveling, camping, sewing, cooking, and gardening.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; son, Dennis K. Dreiss; and a sister, Merlene Pray Landry.

Survivors include her son, Stanley Dreiss and wife Zelpha; daughter, Bobbie Jean Morgenroth and husband Keith; sisters, Margaret Beadles, Evelyn Eskridge, and Marilyn Woolsey; brother-in-law, Francis Dreiss and wife Jean; grandchildren, Greg Dreiss and wife Jennifer, Missy Vadnais and husband Kevin, Kyle Morgenroth and wife Jisoo, Jimmy Dreiss and wife Missie, and Alicia Reynolds and husband Derek; great grandchildren, Taylor Drozd, Johnathan Vadnais, Colton Dreiss, Chelsea Dreiss, Caitlyn Dreiss, Cody Dreiss, and Grady Dreiss; along with many friends and neighbors who will miss her dearly.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, on Saturday, May 19, 2018 in the Main Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Highway, Kerrville, TX 78028, with Rev. Dr. Donna Magee officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Rest Cemetery, Kerrville, TX.
