Kerrville Shelby Holmes Day, 80, of Kerrville,Texas, passed from this life at a local care facility on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, in Kerrville, Texas.
Shelby was born on September 27, 1933, to Wilson and Erma Day in Crossett, Arkansas.

Shelby was working for Cricks furniture when he met Patsy LeNoir, and they were married July 22, 1977. They had a great marriage full of good humor and playfulness. Together, they owned their own store, The Home Center, in Kerrville, Texas. Shelby was honored to receive the Rotarian of the Year award in 2006, by the Kerrville Morning Rotary. He was also an Eagle Scout and encouraged his grandson to become involved in Boy Scouts, too, mentoring him until J.W. Herring, earned his Eagle Scout too. Once an Eagle Always an Eagle.

Shelby was an unselfish man. He gave unconditionally, and had a terrific sense of humor. When he was well, he loved archery and enjoyed playing golf. Shelby suffered and was sick for a long time. Those who love him will not begrudge him his peace, for he is with God.

Shelby was preceded in death by his parents Wilson and Erma Day, and son, James Day

Those left to honor and cherish his memory, are his beloved wife of 36 years Patsy Day daughters, Linda Diane Thompson, Sharon Kay Goodlett E D Harrell, son Tommy Day and wife, Jodi sister, Linda Brown also to cherish his memory, many grandchildren and many friends and near relatives, including Jerry Brown.

A celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, June 24,2014, at 2 PM at the First Presbyterian Church 428 Washington Street, Kerrville, with the Rev. Rob Lohmeyer Officiating.
