Sharon Cunningham

AUSTIN - Sharon Ann (Sherry) Cunningham, 69, of Denton, TX and formerly of Kerrville, TX passed from this life to spend an eternity with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 19, 2015 in an Austin hospital after a brief illness. Born September 15, 1945 in Watonga, OK, Sherry was the daughter of Floyd Glenn Noble and Marian Kathleen Foreman Noble.

Sherry began her career as a Chamber of Commerce executive in her hometown of Watonga, Oklahoma in 1980. She served the communities of Alvin, Copperas Cove, and Palestine, TX as their Chamber of Commerce executive director before moving to Kerrville, TX in 1993. On June 25, 1994 Sherry married Rick Cunningham in Kerrville, TX where they made a life together that they enjoyed immensely. She changed careers in 2004 and worked in the banking industry until she retired in 2011. Sherry and Rick loved their children and grandchildren and all of the pleasures of parenting and grand-parenting. They were her pride and joy.

Sherry loved photography, gardening, writing and scrapbooking. She started writing a column for the Hill Country Community Journal after she retired. Sherry served as a mentor for Kerrville ISD and Ingram ISD for many years. She was also involved in numerous civic organizations including Kerrville Rotary Club, Kerr County Relay for Life and Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital. Sherry was involved with the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives as a Board Member, the Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce Executives and Oklahoma State Chamber of Commerce as a Board member.

From an early age, Sherry wanted to be known as Mimi - starting with her nieces and nephews, serving as Mimi to so many others along the way until she got her own grandchildren. She was present at the birth of each of her grandchildren - dropping whatever business activity was going on to travel to where she needed to be to welcome the new baby into the world. She died doing what she loved - taking care of her children - watching Challe walk down the aisle. More than anything, Sherry loved the Lord Jesus and accepted Him as her Savior early in life. This love was evident in everything she did and she shared this love with all. She never met a stranger and would make friends anytime and anyplace.

Sherry and Rick moved to Denton, TX in April 2015 to be closer to their kids and grandkids. The last 4 months she was exactly where she wanted to be until the Lord took her home to be with Him in Paradise. She will be loved by her husband and family forever and will be missed every day. We look forward to seeing her with the Lord in heaven.

Those that have passed before her include her father, Glenn Noble, mother, Kathleen Noble, and her brother Terry Noble.

Left to honor and cherish her memory are her husband, Rick Cunningham; son, Jay Parham, and wife Angie and grandchildren Madison, Olivia and Jackson; daughter, Jan Beltrone and grandchildren Allison and Leah; son Rick Cunningham, and wife Jay Kay and grandson Cade; son, Craig Cunningham, and fiancé Summer Lindsay, and grandchildren Craig and Marie West and Trey, Andrew and Matthew Lindsay; goddaughter, Challe Shilling Wright and husband William; sisters, Glenda Wilkinson, Patricia Badry along with numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. She also leaves behind a host of friends that are countless, and her church family.

In lieu of floral tributes, the family has expressed a desire for memorial donations to be made in her name to the MS Society, in honor of her daughter-in-law, Angie Parham. www.nationalmssociety.org
