Sally Martin

Sally Day Patton Beeler Martin of Kerrville, Texas, born in Columbus, Ohio on May 13, 1943 passed away at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas on June 27, 2002 of heart failure. She was 59 years of age.Survivirs include two brothers, Jon Patton of Kerrville, Texas and Hugh Patton, and sisterinlaw, Sarah Patton of Center Point, Texas one surviving son, David Beeler of Los Angeles, California.Of Ms Martins mothers family, there is one uncle and aunt, Horace and Mardie Thue and their sons daughters of Connecticut, California and Hawaii Bruce Thue and sons of California. On the Patton Side, one uncle, Jack D. Patton of Orlando, Florida also survives her.Not to be forgotten is Twetze, Sallys dog of terrierpoodle extraction, who continues to look for her mistress.Sally was and had always been an independent soul, who nourished many with whom she came in contact. A quality not unusual, but fostered by a childhood nurtured with strong family ties throught parents of strength, dedication, and love.Sally found a relaxing outlet throught the art of metal detecting and the study of prehistoric man in the Texas Hill Country during the years preceding her final illness. In the past four years, she found some pleasures through arts and crafts. She had a real penchant for flea markets, with an occasional estat sale thrown in.After having worked for Hester Window Coverings for several years, Sally went into the drapery business on her own. She worked virtually alone and did well. Her work was known for its quality and personal touch. When her health put an end to heavy labor, Sally went back to an old pastime, arts and crafts. From flea markets and garage sales she would bring home orphaned, broken down things and create anew, reselling many.Unable to enjoy a truly normal lifestyle, Sally tried to keep as actrive as possible. This is where bingo, flea markets, garage and estate sales, and just plain having friends she could visit and commensurate with enriched her days. She would want for no one to mourn her death. Her life was full it was as she ed it she did her thing. She knew laughter, she knew sorrow she knew love, and then, tomorrow. We, her brothers, and I, her son, have our memories, so Sally will be with us as long as we all shall live. ation will be held from 68 pm, Monday, July 1, 2002, at Kerrville Funeral Home, Kerrville, Texas.
