Roy Follis

Kerrville Rev. Roy E. Follis, 74, of Kerrville, passed from this life at his home on Monday, December 14, 2009.

Born in Webster, TX on December 23, 1934, he was the son of SD and Florence E. Browning Follis.

Rev. Follis served as an associate pastor and pastor in many Assembly of God churches in Deer Park, TX and Pasadena, TX for 18 years. He was also CEO of Teen Challenge of South TX for 18 years. He married Lenore G. Koym on August 14, 1953 in Houston, TX, a union that would last 56 years and bring 3 sons and many grandchildren into their lives.

He was a member of the San Antonio Rotary Club.

Rev. Follis was greeted in heaven by his parents and a brother, Vernon G. Follis.

Those left to cherish and honor his memory are his wife, Lenore G. Koym Follis of Kerrville 3 sons, Vernon Lee Follis and his wife, Lynn, of Gulfport, MS, Richard W. Follis and his wife, Sanya, of La Porte, TX and Roy Dean Follis of Kerrville 11 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren a brother, Charles Follis of Tyler, TX a sister, Corinne Hamilton of Deer Park, TX and many nieces and nephews.

There is no visitation.

A celebration of Rev. Follis life will be held at the Assembly of God Church, 901 Jefferson St, Kerrville, on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 2PM.


The family suggests donations may be made to the Assembly of God Church Campground, Harper Rd, Kerrville, TX .
