Rotan Clements

Kerrville Rotan Clements, 97, passed from this life peacefully on Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at her residence in Kerrville, Texas. She was born on April 16, 1907 in Rotan, Texas to George N. and Bessie Judd.Ms. Clements moved with her family to Lubbock, Texas in 1922 where she enrolled at Lubbock High School. During her last year of High School, the family moved to Peoria, Illinois. On July 31, 19, she married Lee Clements in Davenport, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Clements were both faithful employees of HiramWalker Distilleries in Peoria, and after over 30 years of service, they retired.After moving to Kerrville to enjoy retirement, she became very well known as the retiree who never really retired. She was very active in numerous organizations in Kerrville, and was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Kerrville.She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.Ms. Clements is survived by a sister, Margaret Baxa of Chicago, Illinois, several nieces, nephews, and a host of many loving friends and neighbors.Graveside services will be 1:00PM Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton, Illinois.At the familys request, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vista Care Hospice, Kerrville or First Presbyterian Church, Kerrville.Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
