Rose Sturges, born March 2, 1918 in Wapoto, Washington, died December 27, 2005 at Parsons House in Kerrville, Texas. She married Claude C. Sturges on March 16, 1953. Rose was a born volunteer. She was very active in AARP, Republican Women, Red Cross, Elks, the Dietert Senior Center and the First United Methodist Church, including the 21st Century Sunday School Class. She is a former Senior Citizen of the year for Kerrville. She served as an interpreter for the Allied Forces in WWII in Japan. She was active in the Officers Wives Organization throughout her husbands military career.She is survived by her sister, Mitsue Kendai of Osaka, Japan her three daughters and their husbands, Claudia and Denny Hill of Plano, Texas Carol and Jack LaBorde or Shreveport, Louisiana and Connie and Mike Leonard of Prairieville, Louisiana six grandchildren, eleven greatgrandchildren, and two nephews. She loved her Lord, her family, and her friends especially those at Rio Robles.Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2005 at the First United Methodist Church in Kerrville with Rev.
