Rose. Peck

Rose A. Peck, 73, passed peacefully, June 9, 2021, at home after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born on October 27th, 1948 in Williamsburg, PA daughter of the late Stephen D. and Dorothy E. (Forshey) Lockawich. She grew up on a dairy farm and was the oldest of seven children.

She graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1966 where she enjoyed cheerleading. On November 9, 1968, she married her high school sweetheart, William Lee Peck, Jr. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Williamsburg, PA. They were married for 53 beautiful years.

After graduation, she went to business school in Altoona and then worked in various fields; financial, real estate, but out of all those roles her favorite was working at the library on Camp Lejeune and Camp Johnson. She dedicated over 20 years of her life as a civil service worker where she took on many jobs to help support active duty personnel and their families. Rose was passionate about serving the military community and loved what she did for a living.

She was a devoted military wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spoiling her grandkids, gardening, quilting, sewing, cooking, embroidering and cross stitching. She was a lady in the truest sense, soft-spoken, polite, and always kept an immaculately clean house.

Rose is preceded by her parents, her sister, Judy and her niece Angie. She is survived by her husband, William; her sisters, Theresa, Patty, Susan and Lisa; her brother, Steve; her three children, William, Stephanie and Erica; and her six grandchildren, Olivia, Haley, Brandon, Cora, Nathan, Lily.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the cfsrf.org, Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund, Inc.

Interment will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of the professionals at Kerrville Funeral Home (830)895-5111
