Kerrville Ronald R. Anderson, 70, of Kerrville, passed from this life at his home on Saturday, April 2, 2011.
Born in Denison, TX on November 27, 1940, he was the son of the late Willard and Lillie Faye Douglas Anderson. He had been a resident of Kerrville for many years.
On December 10, 1960, he married Judy Lynn Hale in Dallas, TX, a union that would span 50 years, and took them on many journeys.
In the early 1980s, Mr. Anderson was very active in the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, was one of the Directors of Development, and was in charge of public relations for the camp.
Ron loved Texas and its history and in 1994, he and Judy began Treasures of Texas Bookstore at the Christmas Store, with only two bookcases. As many know, their bookstore filled that room with thousands of book with his love for our Texas. Ron and Judy greeted all of you and many others throughout the years. Ron appreciated Fredericksburg and what if gave to all of us a room filled with Texas.
In 2009, he gave up his bookstore and even during his illness, Mr. Anderson enjoyed valuing books from his home, with the help of Judy.
Even now, you will find his books at the Scrapbook Store, owned by Colleen Langerhans, she being a descendant of a pioneer family since 1846.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife, Judy Lynn Hale Anderson of Kerrville his son, Edward Anderson of Concan, TX his daughter, Julie Bailey of TN 1 grandson 3 great grandchildren his sister, Melinda Brogan of Arcadia, CA and 5 nieces.
There will be no visitation.
Private services were held by the family.
The family suggests that donations in his name be made to the American Cancer Society.
