Rolf Larsen

Rolf Einar Larsen, 79, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at a local care facility in Kerrville, TX.

He was born on November 7, 1938 in Tracy, Minnesota to a Norwegian American couple, Ulrik Larsen and Helen Oscarson .

Rolf was the eighth of ten children. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse studying English and Physical Education there he met Lynne Lucas, another Phys. Ed. Major. They were married in February of 1963 and spent the next 52 years together until her death in 2015. They had two children Kris and Erik. Rolf worked as a teacher and coach until changing careers to work in sales. This brought the family on many adventures including relocations to Phoenix, AZ and then to Houston, TX and again to Conroe, TX. It was in Conroe that Rolf decided to return to school and attend seminary in Ft. Wayne, IN to become ordained as a Lutheran minister.

He served congregations in Escondido, CA, Gretna, NE, Lincoln, TX and finally Holy Cross in Kerrville, TX in 1989. He and Lynne loved Texas and were very happy to return there to live and eventually retire.

Rolf is survived by his son, Erik Larsen of Grand Junction, CO; daughter, Kris Santiago and husband Euclides of Pipersville, PA; grandson, Lucas who just graduated from American University in Washington DC; sister, Signe Carlson and brother, David Larsen.

After Lynne's death in 2015, Rolf resided with the wonderful folks at Brookdale on the Guadalupe River in Kerrville.
