Roland Owen

Memorial services for Mr. Roland C. Owen, age 78, of Kerrville, who died August 4, 2002 in a local hospital will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday August 8, 2002 in the Faith Christian Church in Kerrville, with Pastor Joseph Fegenbush officiating.Mr. Owen was born on February 29, 1924 in Quapaw, OK.to John and Marguerite Owen. He married Ruth Evelyn Sothers on December 31, 1942 in the Clinton Christian Church of Clinton, MO. with the late Rev. Linsey officiating. Rolandbecame a member of the Christian Church of Clinton, MO. at the age of 5. He lived most of his life in Missouri in Henry County. The Owens moved to California in March of 1973 for health reasons. In 1976 he had another heart attack at the age of 52. After retiring he and Ruth traveled to many states. In 1982 they came to Kerrville for the winter and decided to make it their home. He became a very active member of the Faith Christian Church. He was also very active in the Rio Robles Park.He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth of Kerrville, one son David and his wife Penny two grandchildren, Jennifer and Corey Owen one greatgrandson, Brett. He was preceded in death by his parents one son, R.C. Owen Jr. two brothers and two sisters.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.Kerrville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
