Roland Kramer

Roland John Kramer, 89, passed from this life on Friday, March 2, 2018 in a local care center in Kerrville, TX. He was born on July 9, 1928 in Alexandria, MN to Henry John and Helen Rieman Kramer.

Roland was a proud WWII veteran who served in the United States Army from September 1946 thru February 1948. After graduating from Holy Family High School in 1948, Roland also served in the National Guard and as a reserve of the United States Army from 1948 thru 1958. He met his lovely wife, Joyce Hobbs and they married on November 17, 1973 in Houston, TX. Roland was a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church.

Roland was an Iron Worker and he was a proud member of the Iron Workers Union. After retirement, in 2002, Roland and Joyce moved to Kerrville to enjoy their later years in the Texas Hill Country they loved so much.

Preceding him in death were his mother, father, a brother and three sisters.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife, Joyce of Kerrville, TX; son, Billy Gilliam; two daughters, Ann Tyner and husband Ken, and Tina Rabalais and husband Tom; grandchildren, Chris Crochet and Mackenzie Tyner; great-grandchildren, Camryn and Charlie Crochet; along with a host of many loving friends and neighbors who will miss him dearly

There will be a time of reflection and visitation from 5:30 - 7:30 PM on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 with a recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6 PM in the Main Chapel of Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Highway, Kerrville, TX 78028. A Mass of Christian Burial will held at 9:30 AM, Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Notre Dame Catholic Church, corner of Water and Washington Streets, Kerrville, TX 78028 with Fr. David Wagner as officiant. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories with Military Honors.
