Roberts Bills

Roberts Watts Bills, age 87, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2002 at the VA Hospital in Kerrville. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2002 at the Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel at 11:30 A.M.Mr. Bills was born on June 12, 1915 to Emmett Eugene Bills and Emma Bell Duvall Bills in Paris, Texas. He served in the Navy Seabees during World War II in Guadalcanal and the Solomon Islands campaigns. He was a selfeducated man who went on to become one of the only 2 people in Texas to receive his licensed as a Civil Engineer without a formal education. Roberts was an engineer in the railroad industry for many years traveling all over the country.He is survived by Pauline Kneblik of Kerrville, brothers Warren Bills of Denton, TX, Woodrow Bills of Paris, TX sister Jeanette Pledger of Paris, TX as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
