Kerrville Robert L. Ohls, 99, born September 3, 1903 to Robert and Johanna Ohls in Minnesota and passed away at a local care facility on October 19, 2002. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1929 with a degree in Mechanical engineering and worked for General Electric during the depression. Mr. Ohls later served in various positions in Maritime Service. Mr. Ohls married Evelyn Ohls and then spent many years in the Oil Gas Industry, working for Reed Roller Bits and Mission Valve Company, where he has been credited with patents. After retiring in 1968 from Mission, he and his wife moved to Kerrville in 1978. The Ohls traveled to various foreign countries many times after retirement, and enjoyed each trip. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Kerrville, Texas.He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Ohls parents Robert R. and Johanna Radtke Ohls 3 brothers, and 2 sisters.Mr. Ohls is survived by a brother, Paul Ohls and wife Aleyne of New Braunfels, Texas sisterinlaw, Pearl Donald of Kerrville, Texas several nieces and nephews, and host of many loving friends and neighbors.Funeral services will be held at Zion Lutheran Church at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 23, 2002 with interment to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family visitation will receive friends at Kerrville Funeral Home from 6:00 8:00 pm, Tuesday, October 22, 2002. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Piano Fund.Services are under the direction of Kerrville Funeral Home, Kerrville, Texas.
