Robert Brunk

Robert Bob Edwin Brunk, 90, of Kerrville, Texas passed away at a local retirement home on Saturday, January 25, 2014. He was born on June 17, 1923 in Grand Junction, Colorado to Glen and Atha Wallace Brunk.

Bob married Ruth Joyce Van Horn on August 14, 1943. They moved to Kerrville in 1978. Bob served in the United States Navy as a Chief Pharmacists Mate from Nov 23, 1940 to June 19, 1941 and was a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. He retired from the Federal Government in 1978 as the VA Hospital Administrator in Walla Walla, Washington. Bob volunteered at the Kerrville VA for a number of years. He was a member of the Kerrville Masonic Lodge 697 A.F. A. M., a Shriner, Past Hill Country Shrine Club President and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was also a Past Exalted Ruler of the Kerrville Elks Lodge 2081, a member of the Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, the Past President of the Hill Country Chapter of the American Red Cross, and the Past National President of the Holiday Rambler RV Club. Bob was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign War, and Disabled American Veterans. He even had a minor role in the movie A Wing and a Prayer.

Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather and friend. He touched many lives that he came in contact with and will be truly missed by everyone.

He is survived by his sister, Betty Garrison sons, Robert Brunk Jr, and Thomas Brunk and wife Sharon four grandchildren, Brian Brunk, Glen Brunk, Gary Brunk, and Angela Platt seven greatgrandchildren also survive him.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Faith Christian Church, 1205 Sidney Baker South, Kerrville, Texas 78028 with the Rev. Joseph Fegenbush officiating.

In lieu of floral tributes, memorials may be forwarded to the American Red Cross, Hill Country Chapter, 333 Earl Garrett, Kerrville, Texas 78028.
