Kerrville Robert S. Bob Brach passed away on July 18 at home, surrounded by family, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Bob was born October 2, 1927 in Cisne Illinois and moved to Kerrville at the age of 9. He graduated from Tivy High School in 1944 and joined the U.S. Merchant Marines at the age of 16 where he served 3 years as a radio officer. Bob also served in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict.

Bob married Edna Louise Wagner in 1948.

He made his career in the insurance industry. After owning an independent agency, he spent 22 years with Universal Underwriters Insurance Company and retired as Vice President.

Bob was a devoted Chicago Cub fan and avid tennis player.

Upon retirement in 1990 Bob returned to Kerrville where he resided on the Tierra Linda Ranch and expressed his love of God and Gods creation through his many paintings. Bob was known for generously sharing his time and talents to his church and community throughout his life. Notably, he was one of the founders and the first president of the Kerr Arts Cultural Center.

He is preceded in death by his beloved Edna Louise Wagner, his parents and his brother, Charles.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his brother Roger, four children and their spouses: Raymond Tracy, John Kim, Marilynn Scott Tannenbaum and Paul Martha ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, and special family friend, Donna Robinson.


A memorial service is planned for Saturday August 20 in order to allow all family members to attend, to be held at First Christian Church in Kerrville at 11 AM.

The family would like to thank Peterson Hospice for their assistance with Roberts care, and suggests that donations in his name be made in Bobs name to the Kerr Arts Cultural Center or charity of choice.
