Lindale Robert William Blades, 85, of Lindale passed peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior on October 25, 2003 in Lindale, Texas. He was born to William Henry and Dosha Parker on November 15, 1917 in Crisfield, MD.After serving in the United States Army from 1936 to 1941, Mr. Blades served over 30 years as a United States Government Motorcycle Highway Patrolman in the U. S. Canal Zone of Panama. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Ismas, and later transferred his membership to a Lodge 1367 in Dallas, Texas. He and his wife, Hazel retired in the Dallas area, and then in 1985, they moved to Kerrville to continue retirement. Mr. Blades was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Hazel preceded him in death in 1988. Mr. Blades recently moved to Lindale, Texas to live near a lake. Mr. Blades is survived by his son, Paul Blades, and wife Monette of Helena, MT. one brother, Ronald Blades of Pikesville, MD one sister, Lois Reynolds of Princess Ann, MD. one granddaughter and a host of many loving friends, neighbors, and church family members.Graveside Services will be held Thursday, October 30, 2003 at 10 AM at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, with the Rev. Sam Ligon officiating. Open visitation will be Wednesday evening.Arrangements are under the direction and care of Kerrville Funeral Home.
