Richard Smithey

Kerrville Richard Lee Smithey, 78, of Kerrville, passed from this life at a local hospital on Saturday, January 8, 2011.

Born in Lindsay, TX on May 5, 1932, he was the son of Willie Bob and T. Eddie McPherson Smithey.

Mr. Smithey served in the US Army.

He is predeceased by his parents, five brothers and his beloved son, Mark David Smithey.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife of 60 years, Lela Grace quotPatquot Johnson Smithey his son, Gary Smithey and his wife, Karol, and their children, Greg, Zach and Lynsey his granddaughter, Natalee Elaine Smithey, daughter of Mark Smithey his daughter and soninlaw, Amy Underwood and Busty, and their children, Alexandra, Alyssa and Adrianne two great grandchildren, Jacob and Lukas Smithey his three sisters, Lois Estes, Jean Hamilton and Ellen Ripple and husband, Tom and many nieces and nephews.

ation will be held Saturday, January 15, 2011 from 2:303:30PM at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas followed by a funeral service at 3:30PM with Rev. Dr. James Haner, pastor of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Whitney, TX officiating.

The family suggests that donations in his name be made to Peterson Regional Medical Center, 551 Hill Country Dr, Kerrville, TX 78028, so they can continue the outstanding medical services to others as Richard received over the last 10 years.
