Captain Richard A. Fredenburg, 82, passed away peacefully at his home after a lengthy illness, on August 8, 2005. His wife of 61 years, his son and family, and his two Rottweillers were by his side.Captain Fredenburg was born in Syracuse, New York on May 25th, 1923. He served in the Marine Corps, flying in Korea and World War II. Dick, as he was known to his friends, wore many hats in his life, but the one he wore most proudly for 32 years was Captain on Eastern Airlines. Dick and Norma formed the Hill Country Model T and A Club, and Dick also home built several ultra light airplanes he flew up until he became ill in 1999.Our family wishes to thank all the various doctors and Sid Peterson Hospice for being there to help in his care during his long illness. No services will be held in Kerrville. Interment will be at a future date in Lyons, New York Family Cemetery.
