Rev. Shaw

San Antonio - Rev. David A. Shaw, 87, of Kerrville, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 10, 2015 in San Antonio Texas. David was born on September 28, 1927 to David Arthur Shaw II and Jessie Minor in Dallas Texas.

After graduating from high school, he furthered his education at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas and Boston University School of Theology. During WWII he served in the United States Navy.

He was ordained as a pastor in the United Methodist Church, serving eleven churches in west Texas and New Mexico over a 42 year career.

He retired with his wife Dawn to Kerrville in 1992 and has been a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he and Dawn sang in the church choir. He was active in other religious endeavors, particularly, Walk to Emmaus retreats.

He was preceded in death by his parents; David Shaw II and Jessie Shaw and his sister; Nancy Hakes .

Those left to honor and cherish his memory, are his wife; Dawn Shaw, his three sons; David Shaw and wife Mary Sullivan of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Mark Shaw and wife Chris of Midland, Texas and Paul Shaw of Pecos,Texas as well as three grandsons; Joel Thomas-Shaw, Luke and Aaron Shaw.

A Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, January 16, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church 321 Thompson Drive, Kerrville, Texas 78028.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the First United Methodist Church Missions Fund. 321 Thompson Drive Kerrville, Texas 78028
