Raymond Lee Rhodes of Center Point went to be with his Lord on April 29, 2009, at the age of 71.
He was born on September 9, 1937, in Leming, Texas, to Carl Eugene and Lillie Belle Rhodes. Raymond accomplished many things in his life.
He was in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. He was a police officer, deputy, carpenter and hunting guide for the YO Ranch.
In 1978 he opened Rhodes Bros. Taxidermy in Kerrville, Texas. He owned a heavyequipment business. He was a Master Scorer for the Safari Club International scoring over 700 animals of which 92 are in the record book. But the accomplishment he was most proud of was being an Ordained Minister. Raymond was a loving, caring son, father, brother, uncle, quotPaw Pawquot and friend.
When he was not working, he loved to fish and hunt with his quotBrother John.quot He is preceded in death by his father, Carl Eugene Rhodes his mother Lillie Belle Rhodes his wife Anita Collins Rhodes and his daughter Cathy Lou Rhodes.
He is survived by his son, Billy Bob Rhodes and his children Britny and Dillon Rhodes daughter, Janice Welty, her husband Larry Welty, and their children Jessy and Rusty Welty daughter, Laurie DeJohnErmey, her husband Brad Ermey, and their children Gavin, Trent and Macy Rhodes, and Ariel and Kyla Ermey daughter, Rebecca Rhodes, Roger Pape Jr, and children Tyler Alink and Lillie Rhodes daughterinlaw, Susan Walker, her husband Robert Walker, and children Aaron and Nick Walker brothers, John and Kay Rhodes, Gene Rhodes and Carl and Barbara Rhodes sisters, Mary Wilton and Aline Keith God Daughter, Pam Baines and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Rebecca Barrington her staff, Dr. John Barnett his staff, Dr. Michael Melucci his staff, and the Vista Care Hospice Staff for the wonderful medical care they have given Raymond. They would also like to thank Pastor Don Linda Davis and his church family at Trinity Church in Center Point.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 2, 2009, at Kerrville Funeral Home Chapel with graveside services to follow at the Center Point Cemetery. At Raymonds request, please dress casual.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kerrville Chapter of the American Cancer Association.
