Raymond Lewis Langehennig

Raymond “Ray” Lewis Langehennig, age 69, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023. Ray as he was affectionately known, was born in Coleman, Texas to loving parents, Max E. Langehennig and Pansy E. Maughan Langehennig. Ray was the youngest of twelve siblings; growing up in Center Point, Texas and Camp Verde, Texas. He was born into a family of farmers where he helped grow and harvest corn and cotton. Ray learned at a young age that he loved music; gospel and country music to be exact, and learned to play the guitar. Among some of his all-time favorite legendary artists were, Elvis Presley and Merle Haggard; but his main legend was no other than “The Man in Black”, Johnny Cash.  Ray married his beautiful wife, Janice Penton on November 15, 1991 in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. They went on to raise a family and have a good life together. Ray enjoyed all things to include old cars and being a member of the Family Worship Center in Kerrville, Texas. Ray was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who were lucky enough to know him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Max E. and Pansy E. Langehennig; two sisters and eight brothers.

Ray is survived by his wife, Janice Penton Langehennig of Kerrville, Texas; sons, Cody Langehennig and wife Jordan of Kerrville, Texas, and Jesse Penton of Kerrville, Texas; four granddaughters and two great-grandsons.
